Nail trend: pastel manicures
Pretty and soft pastel nails look great on every skin tone. They're also set to be the hottest nail trend in the coming months so get your pastel manicure now.
With the return of pastel shades to everything fashion related, wearing pastel nail polish is the quickest and most subtle way to incorporate the look into every day.
Go get your pastel nail polish now
Pastel nails are soft and feminine. They're super pretty and easy to apply. Just be sure to get nail polish with a glossy finish so your nails will look shiny, bright and even. A matte finish will make your pastel manicure look too chalky - not a good look. Try wearing your pastel nails with contrasting clothing to make them pop.
Wear more than one pastel colour on your nails
Because pastel nails have a soft look, you can wear more than one colour on your nails at a time. Try painting your nails in different pastel shades for a fun look or a "french manicure" style nails with a different pastel polish on your tips. The great thing about going for more than one pastel shade is that all pastel colours look good with each other.
Celebs go crazy for the pastel manicure nail trend
It's super popular among A-listers. Jessica Alba was spotted with a lilac manicure (which looked fabulous on her tanned skin), Ginnifer Goodwin sported a pale robin's egg blue while Michelle Trachtenberg rocked seagreen coloured fingertips.
If you're a fan of nail art, go easy on it with this trend. Because the colours are glossy and highly pigmented all you need is a little hint of sparkle - any more will make your nails look too over-the-top. If you must have something extra, try pastel dots or stripes in another pastel shade.

Colours to try!
Try OPI's Pirate of the Carribbean Collection (pictured above right). It has a range of soft pastel shades perfect for this trend. You can also try the pastels from Essie's 2012 Spring collection (left).
